🌱 Introduction |

The Government of Himachal Pradesh has launched the Scheme for Developing 100 Green Panchayats with the objective of transforming Gram Panchayats into self-reliant, environmentally sustainable, and renewable energy-based villages. The scheme aims to establish 500 kW Ground Mounted Solar Power Projects in 100 Gram Panchayats across the State.

This initiative is a major step towards making Himachal Pradesh India's First Green Energy State by 2026. It also aligns with India's commitments under the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the national renewable energy target of 500 GW by 2030 (including 330 GW solar capacity).
